5 Reasons to Dine Outside This Summer

Patio eating outdoorsv2.png?ixlib=rails 2.1

When the weariness of winter finally seems to be waning, we can all seem like school children, counting down the days until the warm temperatures and sunny days are back. We fantasize all winter long about being able to sit outside and bask in the warm glow of the sun, not a care in the world. After all, summer means vacations, longer days, warmer nights, and of course, doing all the outside things — including dining.

Outside dining options range from picnics to barbeques and from grilling out to simple meals on the deck. And why not? Dining outside is a destination — it gets you out of the house, encourages socialization, is stress-relieving, and can be done just about anywhere without walls.

1. Make a date with daylight.

Summer provides the perfect conditions to sit outside and gab with a good friend or dine al fresco with a coworker. It's the best way to unwind from the work day and a great excuse to meet a friend or significant other for a date. You don’t even have to go home first. Instead, head for your closest Buffalo Wings & Rings. It’s the perfect summer social destination. Wings and beer are the perfect cure for a long day of work — trust us, we’re the wing experts.

2. No regrets!

Summer is here and it’s here to stay… at least for a few months, anyway. If you don't take advantage of the weather and all of the opportunities for outdoor living that it brings, you'll surely regret it. We have 95 days of summer this year. When you take away evenings of bad weather or other engagements, you end up with around 75 summer evenings at your disposal. An easy way to make sure you don’t miss the warm weather is to eat outside. Our patio is covered, so you won't get too hot, yet you can still catch a warm summer breeze, and it's the perfect place to drink a nice, cold beer or a signature refresher like our Coconut Cooler. If you’re in the mood to share, we offer pitchers. Sharing is caring after all.

3. Vitamin D? Yes, please!

Did you know you can get your daily allowance of vitamin D by sitting out in the sun for just 20-30 minutes? According to the Harvard Medical School, spends 90% of their life inside, so these 20-30 minutes are crucial for your health. Vitamin D helps boost your immune system, promotes calcium development for healthy bones, reduces your risk of the flu, and can help regulate your blood sugar, among other things. Kill two birds with one stone and get your vitamin D intake and other sorts of nourishment all from the confines of our patio.

4. Do away with dirty dishes.

Everyone loves dinner, but hates the clean up. Barbeques are great but the prep work can be draining. Instead, ditch the dirty dishes and burnt burgers. Eating outside on our patio gives you that barbeque feel without all the grunt work. Plus, nobody wants to stay cooped up in the summer. Now is the perfect time to ditch your apron, eat outside, and let someone else do the cooking and cleaning. Play your cards right, and you could also have leftovers the next day.

5. Being outside is a mood booster.

If your mood and weather temperature were plotted on a graph, you would see that as the temperature increases, so does your mood! It’s a proportional relationship that you can’t argue with because it’s based in science — we did our research. If that's not something to get excited about, then what is? Spending more time outside can reduce blood pressure, heart rate, and stress. Not only does eating outside lower your stress, but the kids can be as loud as they want, and cleaning up messes is way easier (just remember to hold on to your napkins).

Spending time outside improves your mood. According to ScienceDaily, being outside can reduce your blood pressure, heart rate, and stress. In fact, as the temperature increases, so does your overall mood. You don’t have to do anything crazy — simply ining outside could turn your whole day around. The kids get a chance to be a little louder, parents a little calmer and everyone is a little warmer.

So go on, soak up the sun this summer. Grab some grub on the patio at Buffalo Wings & Rings (just remember to hold on to your napkins).
