Buffalo Wings & Rings to replace Su Casa
By Mark Multer
Wausau Daily Herald
WESTON — The former Su Casa building on Schofield Avenue
won’t sit empty much longer.
American International Development, the group of local
investors that owns the property, on Tuesday signed a franchise
agreement with Buffalo Wings & Rings, a Cincinnati-based
restaurant chain with 79 locations nationwide, said Hooshang
Zeyghami, a spokesman for the group.
“We looked at a few other (franchises), and we thought this
was the best one,” Zeyghami said. “We’re very pleased with it,
and we think it will be a great addition to the community.”
Su Casa restaurant closed in September, less than five months
after it opened to much fanfare in a new, $2 million building at
4403 Schofield Ave.
The new restaurant, which features chicken wings, gyros,
burgers and salads, is expected to open this summer, Zeyghami
said. The interior of the 5,000-square-foot building needs to be
renovated to fit the look of the chain, which requires its
restaurant managers to take six weeks of training.
“We are hoping we can open in July,” Zeyghami said. “There’s
a lot of work that has to be done inside.”
The local owners have enlisted Steve Huber to manage the
restaurant, Zeyghami said. Huber has more than 20 years of
experience in the restaurant business.
